Hudson's Seafood House, Hilton Head, SC Food: We ordered the fried flounder, charred grill oysters and lump crab cake. The flounder was flaky white meat with a crispy light beer batter... simply delicious! The oyster was on the half shell moist, nice size and delicious. The crab cake had lumps of crab meat and lightly breaded, cooked to perfection Service: I can't speak highly enough about the service, our waitress was awesome! The manager stopped by the table also treated a free dessert for our anniversary. Ambiance: This establishment is located on the ocean front with a dock patio. The Inside has an ocean view.

Great place to visit in Hilton Head. To get here make sure you drive all the way to the back of the driveway. The view of the islands is great if you can get a spot by the water. The she crab soup is the best I have ever had. It is more of a roux based than most. The oysters are cooked perfectly and quite large. Steamed shrimp and clams round out the pot quite nicely. Add a beer on tap and you have a delicious meal. The service was spot on as well.

We had the best server here, she was kind and brought the energy! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of fresh local seafood options! Amazing that they have so many options that are caught locally- much appreciated by our large group! We took photos of some of our dishes but not all. Overall standouts were the grouper sandwich (tied with dry dock for best on the island in our opinion). The blackened swordfish and mahi mahi were both wonderful! The seven day slaw was different but in a great way, not too vinegary and not too saucy either but just right. They have upped their salad game! They were delicious! We also got some specialty drinks that were all delicious. I was happy to see they had a gin cocktail on their menu, many in the area don't.

First time to HHI and heard this was a good place to eat. Definitely recommend eating here! The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars is because the parking isn't great. However...that is minor and shouldn't deter you. To start, they bring you a bowl of fresh, homemade hush puppies that are delicious. I've never been one to have the need to eat hush puppies, but these are awesome! We also got the oysters Rockefeller and it was very flavorful. We had a picky eater with us so he had a cheeseburger, but he loved it. The rest of us ordered blackened shrimp, blackened flounder, and seafood pasta. All meals were delicious and so fresh. Serving sizes are great and we had room for dessert. We shared key lime pie (phenomenal) and the bread pudding which was hot, gooey, and delicious! Service was friendly, and attentive. Our server did a great job with food recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant was clean and had a great coastal vibe. **Update: We went back our last night and had the Hudson Raw oyster ring (local oysters), so delicious. We also ordered the Neptune Platter and upgraded to Flounder for the fish, husband ordered fish and risotto, son got burger.

This place is very popular and I understand why. You're literally sitting at the dock of the bay (cue song lol). It was such a beautiful view watching the sunset. My party had reservations so we did not have to wait long, but boy was it packed. I was on a work outing so I knew I was going to eat good because food is always the best when you don't have to pay for it. haha. No, but really, since I was on the east coast, I had to have seafood. The oysters were so delicious. Once we were finished with them, our server just chucked them over the rails into the water. Took me by surprise at first, but made sense. The hush puppies were endless and very good. For dinner I chose the crab cakes and mm mm mm! I didn't have a bad meal while visiting, but Hudson's was definitely my favorite place.

Hudson's remains our family's go to! From the massive piles of hush puppies to the always amazing service, can't recommend this place more. The view of the bay is also a major perk. I tried one of their specials today. The Farmer's Salad was great - I added sautéed shrimp, which went great with the beets and candied pecans. We shared some mud pie and peanut butter pie to end our meal. The mud pie is MASSIVE and absolutely drowning in fudge - if you've got a sweet tooth, highly suggest splitting some.

In the offseason, we lucked out with a deck table at sunset on a Saturday night. What a beautiful place to see the days end and enjoy some wonderful service. The waitresses and food servers were excellent. We ordered the grilled oysters that were very tasty and came with two slices of garlic toast. The complimentary hush puppies were nice and hot and small enough to eat whole. I shouldn't have eaten so many as I had a hard time finishing my blackened grouper served over grits and tomato aioli. The fish was super moist and a nice thickness but if you want more of a simple fish preparation without competing cheese & spinach flavors, opt for the grilled fish instead. We got an order of the Low Country Boil to go and ate that before leaving for the airport. What a decadent farewell breakfast.

Territory and Jessee Watching and enjoying Territory -Imagine Robert Taylor with an Aussie accent.... Jesse, an Aussie reported as first day server to Hudson's and he is trained and enthusiastic... Travel tip: avoid the deck We are 60 year vets on Hudson's and we take care to avoid lines, noise, seating, and weather of the deck -- much better views in Dining Room. Char grilled oysters from Daily Special are always great. Huson's has the very best Oyster Po Boy on the Island.

Perfect day for lunch at Hudson's Seafood. We come for the crab cakes, but the slaw, potato salad, French fries and hush puppies are all great. Service is always very good. Owner is often helping out to be sure all customers are happy. The marsh and creek views from the dock are beautiful. My wife and I vote Hudson's as best crab cakes on HHI. FYI - I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay so I know good crab cakes.
